‘Kaala’ new posters Thalaivar Rajinikanth leads a people’s revolution

Amidst political news, superstar Rajinikanth is gearing up for the release of ‘Kaala’, which is arguably one of the highly anticipated films this year. Needless to say, the expectations it has among fans is palpable. The theatrical trailer was released on Monday to an overwhelming response from the audience. In fact, ‘Kaala’ trailer has clocked in more than 4 million views on YouTube. With the film all set for a huge release of June 7, the makers have now released a fresh set of posters that are doing the rounds on the internet. Let's take a glance at some of the posters from the film:

Rajinikanth, the ‘Style Samrat’

Each time Rajinikanth played a gangster on the screen, the result was inevitable at the ticket window. In fact, his films like ‘Billa’, ‘Baasha’ and ‘Kabali’ were highly successful at the box office. Has there ever been an actor who has such majestic screen presence even at 67? The name is Rajinikanth! The latest posters of ‘Kaala’ shows him at his best and ‘Thalaivar’ looks dapper as ever. Barring posters, the scene where Rajinikanth says, “Kya re! Setting ah?”, became extremely popular among netizens. One of the reasons to look forward to the film is Rajinikanth’s swagger and captivating style.

Kaala Karikalan, the saviour of masses

With just being three films old, Pa Ranjith has established himself as a great political commentator through his films. Ranjith has given a whole new definition to the color black and the film itself is likely to talk about the story of the oppressed. The theatrical trailer gave us a glimpse of what ‘Kaala’ could possibly be. Set in Dharavi, Rajinikanth plays a slumlord of sorts, who is reported to be fighting for the rights of Tamil people. At the audio launch of ‘Kaala’, Rajinikanth clarified that it’s not a political film. However, from the trailer, it’s quite evident that ‘Kaala’ seems to have a strong political message. The new poster shows Rajinikanth spearheading a people’s revolution. Will ‘Kaala’ turn out to be an important film for the society? Only time will tell.

Rajinikanth as ‘Raavan’ in 'Kaala'

Director Pa Ranjith is one of the few directors who gives equal importance to the supporting characters. Apart from Rajinikanth, one of the major highlights of ‘Kaala’ is its supporting cast that boasts of names such as Nana Patekar, Huma Qureshi, Eswari Rao, Samuthirakani and Anjali Patil. Another highlight of the trailer is the scene where Nana Patekar introduces Rajinikanth as ‘Raavan’. Going by the poster, it looks like Rajinikanth will be seen in a character of multiple shades. Nana Patekar, who plays the role of a politician Harinath Desai, has been pitted against Rajini. From the trailer, it’s quite evident that the veteran actor will lock horns with ‘Thalaivar’.

The king of box-office

Over the years, Rajinikanth has established himself as the most bankable star in Tamil cinema and all of his films have had terrific opening numbers at the box office. ‘Kaala’ is produced by none other than Rajinikanth’s son-in-law and actor Dhanush’s home productions Wunderbar Films. If reports are anything to go by, ‘Kaala’ has been made on a budget of Rs 80 crore. The satellite rights of the film have already been sold for a massive price. The trailer set the ‘festive’ mood for the film and has piqued the interests of the audience. Going by reports, the film has already fetched enough moolah for the producers. After much delay, ‘Kaala’ is slated to release on June 7. According to trade analysts, the film is expected to have a massive opening on its first day much like his other films.
