“This film is set entirely in the forest and is about people who come there looking for a lost treasure. In general, forests are believed to be a treasure trove and there’s an aura of mystery surrounding them.

Kaattu pudhayal

is a concept we are all aware of. The story will explore all these facets,” says Gowtham, who’s co-written the story with Prabhadees Shaams.

He adds, “Yasin, who’s helming the film, and Rajesh are good friends and I wanted to write this for them. The story will also talk about the importance of forests in an engaging way.” We hear there’s also a Veerappan angle in the film.
Talking about the characters, he says, “Rajesh, Deva and Pooja have a love triangle going on between them. They come to the forest in search of something. Yogi Babu plays a treasure seeker. Rajendran plays someone who gets caught in this mess because he’s out looking for his lost monkey.” The film is being shot in Kuttralam now. “We went on floors about three-four months ago, and have shot in Nagercoil, Tenkasi and Kalakkadu as well. There’s a lot of CG work because we’ll be showing animals,” he informs.

Meanwhile, Gowtham will be directing another film starring Jyotika. “Before that, I’ll be making another one — a hero-based script,” he adds.
