Will Vetrimaaran keep the name of Jeyamohan’s short story as the title of his movie with Soori?

Vetrimaaran has been busy in the making of a film with

actor Soori

in the lead for some time. While he was planning to make a movie based on the novel Ajnabi, and shoot it in Daubai, But later he dropped the idea. There were also rumours afloat that the film has been shelved. But recently, it has come to light that he will be making a movie with Soori in the lead based on writer Jeyamohan's short story,

Thunaivan

, and the script is also ready. Interestingly, it seems, he is planning to title the movie also Thunaivan. It is reported that since the script is ready the team will start shooting for the film in and around Sathyamangalam, soon.

Vetrimaaran is known for his gripping storylines with deep impact and he often takes inspiration from novels and stories by renowned writers.. His earlier movie with Dhanush, Asuran, was based on the novel Vekkai written by Sahitya Akademi award winning writer Poomani. The theme dealt with the long-pending Panchami land issue.

A National Award winner on multiple occasions, his films like Aadukalam,

Visaaranai

and Kaakka Muttai have come in for great appreciation. Vetrimaaran and Dhanush had teamed up on several occasions and delivered hits. The duo will again be joining hands for the sequel to Vadachennai.
