Will Rajinikanth play a cop in AR Murugadoss film?

Now that Petta's got the Superstar rocking again, there's some news or the other about him almost every single day. First was that his next film, which is with

AR Murugadoss

, will be titled Naarkali. However, Murugadoss quickly quashed that one by announcing on Twitter that that's absolute speculation and has no truth.

And now, the buzz doing the rounds that Rajinikanth will be playing a cop in this film which is NOT titled Naarkali... Apparently, it's a cop-and-robber action thriller. Well, if this is so, it might excite Rajini fans no end, for he is known for some superb cop dramas like ‘Moondru Mugam’ and ‘Kodi Parakkuthu’.

The buzz also suggests that Rajini will keep up his newfound 'youth' of Petta, and go with a sleek, young look complete with black hair. There are reports that suggest that Rajinikanth has loved this Petta experience and has asked Karthik Subbaraj to get back to him with one more script to which the director has apparently responded with great alacrity, as news has it that KS Ravikumar has also approached the Superstar with a script.

Meanwhile, back to the film with AR Murugadoss... It is still in the scripting stages, is being bankrolled by Lyca Productions and is slated to go on the floor later this year. Now if only Murugadoss would confirm all this buzz, it'd be, as the 2.0 song goes, 'Innaiku Engalukku Diwali' for all Rajini fans, what say?
