When we walked in to Gokulam Studios to see what the cast of
Dhanusu Raasi Neyargale
were up to, the vibe was totally colourful, and the mood, upbeat. Bearing a resemblance to a wedding, we saw both the actresses —
Digangana Suryavanshi and
Reba Monica John — busy rehearsing their steps with choreographer Kalyan. Our hero,
Harish Kalyan, though, was rather relaxed, chatting with the crew. But the man in action, director
Sanjay Bharathi, ensured everything was going right for the song.
But whose wedding is it? “Aaah, that’s a secret we can’t reveal now. It will be a surprise,” says Sanjay and adds, “But it is a fun song. We haven’t had a wedding song in Tamil cinema for a while now, and this will probably make up for it. The song by Ghibran has come out well and the dance choreography is by Kalyan master. It is colourful with a mix of song, dance and emotions. The song will feature the entire cast of Harish, Digangana, Reba and Munishkanth.”
Talking about the film, Sanjay says, “The film is about a guy (played by Harish) who believes in astrology, so much so that his day-to-day life revolves around it. But does that always work in favour of him? It is a humourous script with all the commercial elements like comedy and romance. Digangana plays a role who juggles between work and play while Reba’s is a girl-next-door character. Munishkanth plays Harish’s uncle in the film.”
The team is currently shooting in Pondicherry. “We are shooting the talkie portions with all the three of them. This is the last schedule. We also have a song left to be shot,” he says.
My character in the film is obsessed with astrologyGenerally, there are many people who see nalla neram to start something new or buy a new product. My character in the film is a guy who is obsessed about it. His entire routine revolves around what his raasi says and he believes in astrology for every step in his life. A role like this is something unique and I am only excited to be playing it as it’s very different from who I am in real life
— Harish Kalyan
My role is a relatable oneI play Harish’s love interest and a character that is so relatable. This is more like love that occurs when people are young. The two of them fall for each other without thinking much about their future together. This is a wedding song, more like a celebratory song that will involve a lot of dancing. The song revolves around me and Harish. It was fabulous shooting for it and I loved dancing, too
— Reba Monica John
I have always wanted to act in Tamil cinemaI am huge Rajinikanth fan and have always wanted to act in Tamil cinema. And this is a film that I am really excited about. I play a modern, level-headed and an independent girl. I was pumped up about this song ever since I heard it and have been rehearsing for it, too. There is a twist in the song, watch out!
— Digangana Suryavanshi
A little bit of dance and comedyThis one has a story element entwined in it, with bits of comedy in this dance song. The song is from the actresses’ point of view, in which they make fun of Harish, too. So, Harish has only a few steps, but it is Digangana and Reba who have a lot of dance moves!
— Kalyan Master
The script is high on humour quotientIt is a humourous script with all the commercial elements like comedy and romance. Reba’s is a girl-next-door character, while Digangana plays a role who juggles between work and play
