Last week,
Karthi had met director
Ameer — with whose Paruthiveeran he debuted in the industry — to convey his heartfelt condolences on the demise of the latter’s mother. The two were joined by directors
Vetri Maaran and
Karu Palaniappan, and actor
Soori, among others. We hear that Ameer spent quite some time talking to his friends from the industry.
Interestingly, though Paruthiveeran became a massive success and won big at the National Awards, Karthi and Ameer didn’t collaborate for a second film.
There were even rumours of a rift between the two while filming the movie. But this February, on the occasion of #15YearsOfParuthiveeran, Karthi took to his social media handle to thank Ameer, and wrote, “I feel blessed to have started my acting career with that film. Every move of mine was designed and tutored by Ameer sir and all the credit goes to him. Of the many lessons learnt, I still treasure the way he taught me to immerse myself and enjoy the work that I do. Thanks to Ameer sir, Gnanavel, Anna, my dear fans & media for ushering me into this beautiful path!”
Meanwhile, Ameer is directing Soori-starrer Iraivan Miga Periyavan, which has been written by Vetri Maaran and Thangam.
