We're big fans of Dhanush, he has great presence on camera: Russo brothers

The trailer of the much-anticipated movie of the year 'The Gray Man', directed by Avengers-fame Russo brothers (Anthony and Joe Russo), came out on Tuesday. The movie, having an ensemble cast, includes Chris Evan, Ryan Gosling, Ana De Armas among others including our very own Dhanush. The star cast also includes Wagner Moura, Julia Butters and Jessica Henwick.
The over two minute trailer gives a glimpse of all the action that the audience can expect from the film.Unfortunately for the fans of Dhanush, the Kollywood star was seen only in couple of frames in the trailer.
However, Dhanush fans need not be disheartened as the directors, speaking during Twitter spaces session, revealed details about their admiration for the actor and about his role in the Hollywood film. "Dhanush plays one of the top assassins in the world and he's sent after Ryan's character in the film. He's got two incredible fights in the film. Anthony and I are big Dhanush fans and we wrote the role specifically for him. This is a classic badass character who'll show up to combat the hero and complicate the film.
"He's a fun character, he's unique and Dhanush has a really great presence on camera. The character is almost mystical. And the intention is that if the audiences like the film, we expand out the storytelling from here and his character is a fascinating one in the world to move forward," the directors said.
If all goes well, they hinted that fans can expect a full fledged Gray Man universe and many spin offs with Dhanush as lead too.

Also, posters featuring the star cast was released terming Dhanush as the Lethal Force, Ryan Gosling as The Uncatchable, Chris Evans as The Unstoppable and Ana de Armas as The Untraceable. Dhanush is said to be playing the head of one of the teams that is after freelance assassin and former CIA operative Court Gentry played by Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans is Ryan's psychopathic adversary.
Based on the novel 'The Gray Man' by Mark Greaney, the screenplay is by Joe Russo, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The film will hit the screens in US on July 15th and followed by world premiere on July 22 on a popular OTT platform.
On the work front, Dhanush has Thiruchitrambalam, Naane Varuven, his Tamil-Telugu bilingual Vaathi and a project with Arun Matheshwaran. Earlier, he made his Hollywood debut with 'The Extraordinary Journey of The Fakir'.
