For better or for worse, the lives of celebs are always in the limelight. So much so that they’re always followed by legion of fans. So, wedding/engagement as well as relationship breakups of celebrities always make headlines. Now, as we draw closer to the end of the year, here’s a look at such top stories from 2019.

The wedding of Superstar Rajinikanth’s daughter, Soundarya, to actor-businessman, Vishagan, was one of the most-awaited ones this year. As expected, the wedding, which took place on February 11, was a grand affair at a star hotel in the city. The grand do, preceded by Mehendi and Sangeet ceremonies, was attended by the who’s who from the film industry across the country.

This was another celebrity wedding that grabbed a lot of attention. Kollywood actor Arya and his Ghajinikanth co-star Sayyeshaa got married in March this year at the Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad. The two-day celebrations of the wedding were attended by many celebs from Kollywood and Bollywood.

As much as cine stars, television actors also have a lot of fans in Tamil Nadu. No wonder, the wedding of Syed Anwar to Sameera Sherief was big news to Tamil television viewers. The two stars were part of the soap opera, Pagal Nilavu. The couple dated for about four-and-a-half years before they got married in November this year.

Another popular celebrity couple of the Tamil entertainment industry is Alya Manasa and Sanjeev Karthick. The actors, who fell in love with each other on the sets of Raja Rani, a romance soap opera, got married this year. Now, we hear that the couple is also expecting their first baby.

Director Anand Shankar, who's known for his films like Arima Nambi, Iru Mugan and Nota, got married to Divyanka Jeevanantham in July this year. The couple got married in a private ceremony, which was attended by family members and a few industry friends of the director.

Actress Ashrita Shetty, who made her Tamil debut with Udhayam NH4, is the latest one from the industry to fall in love with a cricketer and get married to him. She got married to the love of her life, Indian cricketer Manish Pandey, in Mumbai in December. Manish himself took to social media to post some photos of the couple.

Unarguably, Bigg Boss Tamil has a lot of followers and so has its contestants. One such popular face from the reality show, Vaishnavi, a former contestant, tied the knot with her boyfriend Anjan in June this year. The marriage ceremony was a private affair attended by close friends and family.

Popular television presenter, former radio jockey and lyricist Vijay got hitched to Monika on February 10. The wedding reception, which was held on February 9, was attended by several celebs like Sivakarthikeyan, Rio Raj and Ganesh Venkatraman, to name a few.

Kollywood actress Shruti Haasan's breakup with Michael Corsale also came as a shock to her fans. Once a much-loved couple, they decided to part ways this year. Later, the actress herself spoke about the relationship and said that it was a good experience.

Actress Ileana, who's also a social media sensation, became the talk of the town this year for reasons not in connection with films, but for her breakup with boyfriend Andrew Kneebone. Later, she even spoke about the breakup, saying that it was a learning experience for her, and the incident has made her grow nothing but stronger.
