Watch: ‘Semma Weightu’ song from Rajinikanth’s ‘Kaala’ unveiled

Superstar Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated political drama ‘Kaala’ finally hit theatre screens earlier this month. Much to everyone’s expectations, the film opened to a very good response from critics and audience alike.
Two weeks after its release, the makers of ‘Kaala’ have unveiled the music video of ‘Semma Weightu’ from the film. ‘Semma Weightu’ is Rajinikanth's introduction song in the film set in Dharavi, Mumbai.Prior to this, the makers had released songs like ‘Thanga Sela’ and ‘Kannama’. Ever since the release, several critics have appreciated Pa Ranjith for coming up with a strong political film and for asking the right questions.
In ‘Kaala’, Rajinikanth plays a slumlord named Kaala Karikalan, who fights for the rights of the Tamil community in Dharavi. Nana Patekar essays the role of a powerful politician named Hari Dada. Produced by Wunderbar Films, the film also stars Eswari Rao, Huma Qureshi, Samuthirakani and Anjali Patil in pivotal roles. ‘Kaala’ has been unanimously praised for its romantic track between Rajinikanth and Eswari Rao.
With Santhosh Narayanan’s music, ‘Kaala’ has turned out to be reasonably successful at the box office as well.
