‘Vishwaroopam 2’: Kamal Haasan attends special screening at OTA

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan’s highly anticipated ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ finally hit the screens on Friday and has opened to a solid response from the audience. Despite mixed reviews, the film is running to packed houses in Tamil Nadu.

On Sunday, the cast and crew including Kamal Haasan and Pooja Kumar attended a special screening of ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ at Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai.It must be noted that Haasan shot some important sequences for ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ at OTA sometime last year.
Addressing the media after the screening, Haasan was quoted as saying, “I have come here to thank the Indian Army and Defence Ministry for helping us with the movie even though it did not benefit them.”
‘Vishwaroopam 2’ is both a sequel and a prequel to the blockbuster Tamil thriller that released in 2013. According to trade reports, the film is said to have earned Rs 9 crore on its opening day. Notably, ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ has not been released in places like Madurai and Pondicherry due to financial issues.
Written and directed by Kamal Haasan, the film also stars Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, Shekhar Kapur, Rahul Bose and Jaideep Ahlawat in pivotal roles. Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Aascar Films, ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ has music by M Ghibran.
