Vishvanth lands a role in Sasikumar’s cop film

Actor Vishvanth of Kabali fame, who was last seen in Sandakozhi 2, has been roped in to play a crucial role in Sasikumar’s new film with Malayalam director Jiyen Krishnakumar, who made Tiyaan with Prithviraj. Sasikumar will be playing a cop in this film, the shoot of which will resume in September.
“I play a guy from a village, and Ananya plays my pair,” reveals Vishvanth, who will be sporting a new look in the film, which also has Guru Somasundaram, Appukutti, Kumaravel, Marimuthu and Mollywood’s Manasa in supporting roles.Gopinath, who shot Vijay’s Ghilli, is the cinematographer.
“The director had seen my performance in Kabali and cast me in this role. He is someone who enacts every shot and both he and Sasikumar sir appreciated me after seeing the rushes, saying that I have a great future. I have a lot of close-up shots in the film that focus on my eyes, and Gopinath specifically praised the way I used my eyes in my performance,” says Vishvanth, who will also be part of Dhanush’s film with Mari Selvaraj.
