Actor Vishal who is also the secretary of the Nadigar Sangam in Tamil Nadu on Thursday announced that a committee similar to Hema committee will be formed in Kollywood. The actor in an official statement mentioned that a committee will be formed in the next ten days to look into the sexual harrasament and human rights violation in the Tamil film industry.
Actor Vishal celebrating his birthday today, August 29 in a press meet said that it was the duty of Kollywood Artistes Association to set up a commitee equivalent to the Hema Commitee and he added that the preparations are underway. “The Nadigar Sangam will form a committee in the next 10 days. Preparations are underway and an announcement will be made soon. It is our duty to do so as the association is not just for the men in the industry. It is also for women to know that there is someone there for them,” Vishal said.
The actor also stated that women should be cautious and need to verify if the production company they sign with is legitimate. He also said that everyone should cross check before signing the contract if the makers are making a movie as they're claiming. He also asked the women to be fearless.
