The actor began his speech with the golden words, “Udal mannukku Uyir Tamzhikku" (Body for the soil and soul for Tamil). He stressed upon the Cauvery issue and said that Tamilians had the right to share the water of the disputed river. He added that it was the duty of the people in both Tamil Nadu and Karnataka to protect those from the neighbouring state. He also offered the Tamil Nadu Film Producer’s help to all Kannada filmmakers, if they filmed in the state.
