, who is awaiting the release of his much awaited film 'Saamy Square' has acted in an advertisement titled ‘
Third Eye
’, issued in public interest to create awareness on installing CCTV in residences and shops.
The video has him explaining why a Closed Circuit Television Camera (CCTV Camera) is important for households and plays a major role in the safety of citizens. The awareness video idea was initiated by the Greater
Chennai Police
Department.
Speaking at the launch event, Vikram said: “It has now become mandatory to install CCTV in our respective places because it will reduce the crime rate. I believe that Chennai will soon become a safe place for women like Singapore”.
“Catching a culprit becomes really easy, when there are video footages from the crime scene," added Vikram.
