Directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, Vikram’s most anticipated film of the year ‘Cobra’ made it to the big screens on August 31. The film in two days has reportedly managed to make a box office earning of Rs 17 crore. Just hours after release, the film’s satellite and OTT digital rights were purchased and is expected that film will be premiered digitally in October first week.
The film within two days of its run-in theatres has already fall in as a victim of piracy. According to reports, the film has been released illegally online and is available on nearly four internet platforms that include Tamilrockers, Telegram, Filmyzilla and Movierulz. The movie, being released on a Wednesday, was exceptionally looking forward to the weekend box office collection, which might now be disturbed due to the online piracy.
‘Cobra’ was released on August 31 in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi and the film stars Vikram, Srinidhi Shetty, Irfan Pathan, Mrinalini Ravi, Roshan Mathew, Robo Shankar among others. The music for the movie was composed by AR Rahman.
The story of the film revolves around Vikram who plays the role of a genius mathematician and with his other identity as Cobra, he commits number of crimes and is considered world’s best assassin.
