The upcoming Tamil language film ‘
Ponniyin Selvan
’ is a historical fiction film directed by
Mani Ratnam. The movie is currently in its post-production works and is scheduled to release in the year 2022. It is co-produced by Madras Talkies along with Lyca Productions.
The dubbing for the movie is also reportedly going at a steady pace. Actor
Vikram Prabhu who is playing a vital role in the movie, has completed the dubbing for his parts. The actor, through his twitter account, made an announcement in the form of a cryptic tweet that contained a series of emojis.

The movie is an adaptation of the novel ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ written by
Kalki Krishnamurthy
in 1955. The movie is written by Mani Ratnam along with Elango Kumaravel and B Jeyamohan featuring Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi,
Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Jayara, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Sobhita Dhulipala in the lead roles. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu and
Prakash Raj will appear in the supporting roles. The music and background score of the movie is composed by AR Rahman. Recently, AR
Rahman also shared a clipping from the composing sessions of 'Ponniyin Selvan' through his Instagram.
