Vijay Sethupathi to sign a new project with director Ponram; screenplay to be done by Vetrimaaran

Actor Vijay Sethupathi was last seen in the film 'Jawan' which is now a mega blockbuster that has grossed more than Rs 1000 crore at the box office. The actor is currently shooting for his film 'Viduthalai part 2' with director Vetrimaaran. The new buzz is that, after Viduthalai, the actor will once again team up with Vetrimaaran for a new film and it will be directed by Ponram. It is said that the film's screenplay and dialogues will be written by Vetrimaaran. However, the official confirmation is yet to be made.

Vijay Sethupathi had already worked with director Ponram for his film 'DSP' which did not run well in theatres. Meanwhile, in 'Viduthalai', Vijay Sethupathi plays the role of Vaathiyar, a leader of a revolutionary communist group. The film starred Vijay Sethupathi, Soori, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rajiv Menon and Bhavani Sre and the music for the film was composed by Ilaiyaraaja. The second part of the movie will str Prakash Raj, Manju Warrier along with the previous cast and the film is expected to show the rise and the sacrifices that Vijay Sethupathi will make as a leader.

On the work front, the actor has his films 'Maharaja', 'Gandhi Talks' and 'Merry Christmas' which are awaiting its release. The actor is also shooting for a film with Arumugakumar which is tentatively titled 'VJS 51'. The shooting for the film was wrapped up in June 2023 and it was shot in Malaysisa.
