Vijay Sethupathi deserves a National Award: Shankar praises Seenu Ramasamy's Maamanithan

Director Seenu Ramasamy's Maamanithan, which has hit screens today, has been winning praise from celebs in the film industry. One of the champions of the film is director Shankar, who seems to have been hugely impressed by the relationship drama.
Taking to his Twitter page, the director shared that Maamanithan gave him the satisfaction of having watched a good film. Stating that Seenu Ramasamy has delivered a "realistic classic", he was all praise for Vijay Sethupathi's performance in the film, expressing that the actor deserves a National Award for his brilliant performance.He also praised the music of the film, which is jointly composed by the father-son duo of Ilaiyaraaja and Yuvan Shankar Raja.

An overjoyed Seenu Ramasamy thanked the director for his appreciation and tweeted that while Shankar is known for the magnificence in his films, he also has an equally magnificent heart. He wrote, "Director Shankar is a 'Brammanda Iyakkunar', but I realise that his heart too is magnificent. I have no words to say to his words of praise," he wrote.
Maamanithan stars Vijay Sethupathi and Gayathrie in lead roles with Guru Somasundaram, Shaji, Anikha Surendran (of Viswasam fame), and Malayalam actresses Jewel Mary and the late KPAC Lalitha in crucial supporting roles.
