Vijay Sethupathi has agreed to play the lead in a new film by
Seenu Ramasamy, who introduced him as a hero with Thenmerku Paruvakkatru. The actor and director have so far worked on four films, including the acclaimed Dharmadurai, and the yet-to-be-released Idam Porul Yeval and Maamanithan.
Confirming this development,
Seenu Ramasamy says, “Yes, Sethu and I are working together again. Producer Kalaipuli S Thanu will be producing this film. Sethu and I had met him and discussed the details of the project.”
However, the director says that the film will take some time to go on floors. “Right now, I have begun pre-production work on another film with a young hero. While I cannot reveal details about this project at the moment, I can reveal that I am presently in Madurai to scout locations for that and I am also giving the final touches to the script. I will work on Sethu’s film after wrapping up this one. However, the script of that film is complete and Sethu has also read through it and liked it. It will be somewhat different from the films I’ve done so far as it will be an action thriller,” he reveals.
Meanwhile, Seenu says that he is looking forward to the release of his two unreleased films. “Both Idam Porul Yeval and Maamanithan are complete. As a filmmaker, I want them to be released at the earliest. I hear Idam Porul Yeval’s producer, Lingusamy is in talks to release it on OTT. Maamanithan, produced by
Yuvan Shankar Raja, is likely to release soon as well.”
