turning 30 today.

In a press note, Vijay said, "Vasanth sir, Heartiest congratulations on completing 30 years of "Keladi Kanmani". I clearly remember watching that film at Goodluck preview theatre when I was a child, it was a special screening. I could still feel the impact of witnessing a masterpiece film. Everyone was appreciating you after the film got over and was saying that KK is going to be one Evergreen movie in Indian cinema. Those words became true sir. It's still fresh in everyone's mind even after 30 years. What a sourlful and heart touching film."

He further added, "I think KK put that seed in me to become a filmmaker. A film that inspired me and many. Thank you for giving such amazing movie sir. Keep doing films, keep inspiring us."

Released on July 27, 1990, Keladi Kanmani starred SP Balasubrahmanyam,

Sarathkumar, Ramesh Arvind, and Anju, in the lead roles with Baby Neena, Janagaraj, Poornam Viswanathan and Srividhya playing crucial supporting characters. The film, which had music by maestro Ilaiyaraaja, was a silver jubilee hit, and ran in theatres for 285 days.
