With pan-Indian films being the buzzword in the industry,
Susienthiran
is all set to join the bandwagon now. The director has roped in three versatile actors from Kollywood, apart from a host of artistes from across other south Indian languages, for his
Valli Mayil
, which will be set in the 1980s. Thai Saravanan, who’s backing the film, reveals, “Vijay Antony,
Sathyaraj and
Bharathirajaa
sir will be headlining the film. Faria Abdullah, who shot to fame with the Telugu film Jathi Ratnalu, is playing the female lead. We have also got popular Tollywood actor Sunil in the film. We will be releasing the movie in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and even Hindi.”
The film will be a pucca rural entertainer, and shot primarily in forests. He continues, “Susienthiran has been researching the subject — which is partly inspired by real-life incidents — since COVID-19 struck. It was only in the fag end of last year that he finished scripting. We started approaching actors in December, and everyone agreed to be part of the film right in the first meeting. Each character is a hero on its own.”
Susienthiran is presently in Periyakulam forests, near Kodaikanal, writing the dialogues for the film. “The lines will have a rural flavour. So, he is working from the location, so he can take inputs from the locals,” Saravanan informs, adding, “We will start shoot on May 16, and will be filming in Dindigul, Gobichettipalayam, Karaikudi, Kodaikanal, Ooty and parts of Kerala. We have chosen deep forests near these locations to shoot.”
Imman has been roped in to compose the music, while Vijay K Chakravarthy and Anthony will be handling the cinematography and editing, respectively.
