Vignesh Shivan clears the air on rumors of his meeting Pondicherry politicians

Tamil director Vignesh Shivan clarified rumors about a property purchase in Puducherry, explaining he was actually scouting film locations and exploring opportunities for musical events. He met with government officials as part of this process. This follows a previous controversy surrounding his wedding documentary with Nayanthara, which faced criticism for unauthorized footage use.

Vignesh Shivan, the popular Tamil director, is busy with the shooting of his next titled 'Love Insurance Kompany', and the romantic entertainer features Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty in the main roles. Recently, there was controversy surrounding a rumor that filmmaker Vignesh Shivan visited Puducherry and met Tourism Minister Lakshmi Narayanan to request the purchase of government property. Addressing this, Minister Lakshmi Narayanan clarified, stating, "Director Vignesh Shivan visited to seek permission to conduct continuous musical events in Puducherry, similar to those held abroad." Now, Vignesh Shivan has provided an explanation regarding this on his social media page.
Vignesh Shivan wrote: "There’s a rumor circulating on social media that I tried to purchase government property. I want to clarify this matter. I visited Puducherry to inspect the airport and to seek permission to conduct film shoots there. As a courtesy, I met the Chief Minister and the Tourism Minister during my visit. Coincidentally, a local manager was inquiring about some other matter on their behalf. This unrelated information has now been mistakenly linked to me. The memes being shared on social media about this are humorous, and they even motivate me. However, they are unnecessary. Hence, I wanted to clear the air regarding this issue!"
Earlier, Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara's wedding documentary, 'Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale', sparked controversy when Dhanush prevented the couple from using footage from 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan'. The couple faced backlash for allegedly not seeking consent to include their footage in the documentary. Critics also raised concerns about the commercialization of their private ceremony. Despite the uproar, the documentary showcased the couple's love story and received appreciation from fans.
