Vidaarth plays a detective in his next, a mystery thriller

is known for making some interesting film choices. The latest on the actor is that he has signed on to play the lead in a mystery thriller, which will be directed by debutant

Talking about the film, Manoj says, “It is a fictional story, a thriller, which will have Vidaarth play the role of a detective. The story is an engaging one, with several twists and turns. There are some suspense elements, but more than that, there is also a strong message that we will convey through the film. But, it will be done in an engaging way.

Vidaarth is a natural when it comes to acting. I wanted someone who people can relate to, which is why I have roped him in for the film.

Sendraayan

plays his friend. We also have Santhosh (of Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam fame) in a pivotal role. Anjali Nair (of Nedunalvaadai fame) plays Vidaarth’s wife in the film.”

The film has already gone on floors, with the makers starting the first schedule in Chennai. “The film is set in and around Chennai. We have been shooting in Valasaravakkam as of now,” says Manoj, who has earlier worked with director Shakti Soundar Rajan in Naaigal Jaakirathai as an associate.
