Vetrimaaran’ praised debutant director
Mathimaaran
for ‘Selfie’.
Speaking at the ‘Selfie’ trailer launch, Vetrimaaran reportedly stated that Mathimaaran is his former assistant director and his nephew, and that he is a man with lot of self-respect. Vetrimaaran also revealed that he was named by Mathimaaran’s father.
Praising Mathimaaran on directing his first film, Vetrimaaran reportedly stated that Mathimaaran is not a person who believe in short cuts. He added that Mathimaaran never used the relationship between them in the film industry to gain an opportunity. He stated that Mathimaaran worked with another director as an assistant and only after making a short film, he tried to become Vetrimaaran’s associate.
Vetrimaaran reportedly revealed that he has watched the film ‘Selfie’ and he liked the movie and stated that the film has a raw energy in it.
‘Selfie’ is a movie that revolves around the life of college students who are caught in between the management quota opportunities and the business of luring students and getting them admission for money. The antagonist role in the movie is played by Gautham Vasudev Menon and this movie has Gautham Menon playing in a full-fledged role.
