Vetri picks yet another thriller

After being part of films like '8 Thottakkal' and 'Jiiva', Vetri has chosen yet thriller for his next. This yet-to-be-titled film, which revolves around a social issue, will be directed by debutant Shyam.
Says the director, “The story is part fiction and partly based on true incidents. It delves into women’s safety and empowerment. I chose Vetri because I felt he would be apt for this role.Even though it is a thriller subject, we have approached our screenplay in a different manner. Also, he hasn’t done a character like this before. When he heard the narration, he really liked it and came on board. His character comes from a middle-class background and has a very boy-next-door appeal. This film will definitely be a breakthrough for Vetri.”
Vidya Pradeep and Vismaya of 'Uriyadi 2' fame are part of the film. “Vismaya will be paired opposite Vetri. We’re still on the lookout for an actor to play Vidya’s pair. The film will revolve around these four people,” says Shyam. The team has begun shooting today, in Chennai. “The entire film is set in Chennai. There will be power-packed action sequences, which will be one of the highlights in the film,” he informs.
