Veteran director CV Rajendran passes away
Veteran director CV Rajendran passed away today at a private hospital in Chennai today after prolonged illness. He was 81. The mortal remains of the director is kept at T Nagar.
Rajendran had worked with some of the big names in the industry that included Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Ganesan, Superstar Rajinikanth and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan. He has also made films in other languages like Dulhan (Hindi), Thrimurthy (Kannada), Garjanam (Malayalam) and Chiranjeevi (Telugu).

He also assisted his brother, director Sridhar. He was part of the films like Kadhalikka Neramillai and Nenjam Marappadhillai.
The credit for introducing actor Prabhu goes to him as well. Prabhu made his filmdebut in 1982 with the film Sangili, remake of the Hindi film Kalicharan. His Galatta Kalyanam, which released in 1968 is one of the most popular comedy films of all time. He also made Sumathi En Sundari, Vani Rani, Garjanai, Ullasa Paravaigal and Vaazhkai to name a few.
