Versatile actress Kalpana passes away

Actress Kalpana Ranjani, popularly known as Kalpana passed away on today at Hyderabad. The sister of film actresses Urvashi was 51. She is popular in Tamil for her role in 'Chinna Veedu' opposite Bhagyaraj and in 'Sathi Leelavathi' starring Kamal Haasan and Ramesh Arvind. She was last seen in a Tamil film as Siva Karthikeyan's mother in 'Khaaki Sattai'.
The actress was critically admitted at Appollo Hospital in Hyderabad. She is believed to have suffered a cardiac arrest. The 50-year-old actress had acted in more than 300 films and is recipient of National Award for best supporting actress for her film Thanichalla Njan in 2012. Kalpana sister���s Urvashi and Kalaranjini are also established actors.
