'VD 18' to yet-to-be-titled film: Atlee's idea to produce four films under his production banner

Director Atlee is now one of the most successful film fraternities in India. Starting his career in Kollywood, stretching it to Bollywood, and becoming one of the directors to make his film cross Rs 1000 crore at the box office, Atlee has grown from his directorial debut 'Raja Rani' to the action drama 'Jawan', which marked his name in the history of Indian cinema. The director who was set to direct Vijay for his next project has now opened up about his upcoming projects, and the director revealed that he has plans to produce four films under his production house!

Atlee is reportedly said to be producing the tentatively titled VD 18, starring Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh in lead roles. Directed by Kalees, the film is a remake of the Tamil film 'Theri' that starred Vijay, Samantha, and Amy Jackson in lead roles.

The director also revealed that he has lined up three more films—two in Tamil and one in Telugu—that he will be producing. In a recent interview, Atlee said that going forward he will be producing more films under his banner and said that he cannot reveal much detail about the projects and will soon make the official announcements.

Atlee is now taking time off from the film industry as a director as he chose to spend time with his wife and son. He had earlier stated that he will be making a movie starring Vijay and Shah Rukh Khan together, and he recently specified that he is working on something big and added that the script will be made official once he gets a green signal from both actors when they are ready to sign the project of a dual hero concept movie.

Atlee also recently revealed that he has a script ready for actor Ajith Kumar but has not had the time or chance to narrate it to the actor yet. The director also said that he wished to direct Ajith in the future for one of his films.
