The film, which is currently doing the festival circuit, has already won acclaim at international film festivals in Mumbai, Pune, Kerala and Sweden. “I’m excited that the film is going places. The news of our film getting selected to be screened at Tiburon, close on the heels of it getting the best Asian film award has been a shot in the arm for our team,” says Vasanth.

SISP is an anthology of three stories, adapted from short stories by Ashokamitran, Jeyamohan and Aadhavan, revolving around issues faced by women. Parvathy, Kalieswari Sreenivasan (who acted in the French film Dheepan), and Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli play the three protagonists.

Like the recent To Let, this film also doesn’t have a background score. The sound design has been done by Anand Krishnamoorthi, who has worked on films like Kaatru Veliyidai and Kuttramae Thandanai.

“We are planning to showcase the film at various film festivals right now. We are looking at a theatrical release in Tamil Nadu after three months,” informs Vasanth.
