After starring in a series of comedies,
Vaibhav gets to go on the serious mode in his upcoming film, a cop thriller. It will be directed by
SG Charles, who was an associate of
Mohan Raja. Says Vaibhav, “I will be playing a cop for the very first time. I have been doing comedies for a while now. Sixer is a comedy, Katteri is a horror comedy and RK Nagar is a political subject.
So, I wanted to experiment with other genres, and that is how this project came by.”
The team has begun shooting in Chennai and almost 40 per cent of the shoot is complete. “Playing a cop is quite difficult. For starters, the costume itself is quite difficult to carry off,” elaborates Vaibhav, and adds, “I haven’t worked out and built a body or any such thing as this isn’t an action film. Since it is a thriller, this film rides mainly on the script and the characters. The only detail I can divulge about my character at the moment is that it has a tinge of negative shade, too.” Arrol Corelli has been roped in to compose music for the film, which will be bankrolled by Nitinsathyaa
