Vadivelu in Kasethan Kadavulada remake

It looks like Vadivelu is back in action with a vengeance. After signing up for a historical (which will see him as Thenaliraman) and K S Ravikumar���s Africavil Vadivelu, the ace comedian will now be playing a role made memorable by Thengai Srinivasan in the 1972 comedy Kasethan Kadavulada. He will be playing a fake saint in the remake which will be directed by P T Selvakumar, who directed the recent Onbathula Guru.
���I couldn���t think of anyone other than Vadivelu for Thengai Srivasan���s role. Only he can do justice to that hilarious character. We have approached him and he has also accepted the offer,��� says Selvakumar, but adds that though things stand confirmed, the actor is yet to officially sign on the dotted line.
Speaking about the remake, the director says, ���We have bought the remake rights from the production house which made the original. Talks are on with Sivakarthikeyan and Vijay Sethupathi for the lead roles played by Muthuraman and Srikanth, but nothing has been finalized yet.���
The director adds that he will be adapting the story and making necessary changes to make it suitable for present-day audiences. The shooting is expected to commence by May end.
