Kavignar Vaalee might have passed away, but his songs will remain fresh and alive in the minds of audience for years to come. While his latest song Sonapareeya' is a rage with music buffs, the veteran lyricist has also penned a song for Vasanthabalan's Kaaviya Thalaivan, starring Siddharth, Prithviraj, Vedhicka and Anaika. This number, it's said, is Vaalee's last.Vasanthabalan says, 'Vaalee sir wrote the song
Kodaali Mudichu Pottu' on June 8. I met him at about 6 pm that day for this song, and we spent an hour discussing the number. Even at that time, he had breathing trouble. Later, he was hospitalized the same night. When I met him at the hospital, he told me that he would complete the rest of the songs for this film as well. He had always been a cheerful man, and a bundle of energy. Even when I met him that evening, he was beaming with enthusiasm.'
He adds, '
KodaaliMudichu' is a love song and he had written it beautifully. He always used to say that one should not complicate the lyrics; he felt it has to be simple, yet powerful. He had complete knowledge of Tamil literature and epics. He could write just about anything and everything. He was the biggest asset to Tamil cinema.'
He adds, 'Vaalee sir had also written another song,
Vandhanam', for this film. He was supposed to write all the songs for this period film; we will really miss him .'
