'Uriyadi' Vijaykumar to play lead role in this coming-of-age film

has signed on one more film as the lead, which will be directed by his assistant

“This will be an action-based coming-of-age movie with a story that starts from the 1990s and ends in 2019,” begins Abbas, who has assisted Vijaykumar in both the Uriyadi films. “Vijay and I have been discussing the project for some time. I wanted to cast him as the lead because I felt he would be apt to play the different stages of the protagonist — from a school boy to a college-goer and then, a young man. He will be having several looks as the story happens over almost four decades; in fact, most of the characters will have multiple looks because of this element,” he adds.



The film, which is currently in its early stages of pre-production, will be set in Chennai. “The rest of the cast and crew is yet to be decided. We hope to go on floors in March 2021,” he signs off.
