ETimes presents, ##UnforgettableOnes, a weekly segment, wherein we will reintroduce you to one such talent and celebrate their work.
In the fifth episode of #UnforgettableOnes, we have picked 'Majunu' actress Rinke Khanna
Rinke Khanna is one of the few actresses who stepped into Tamil cinema after a successful stint in Bollywood. She started her cinema journey at the age of 22, with the Hindi film 'Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi'. She later shifted focus to Kollywood, and was paired up with 'Top Star' Prashanth in the romantic drama 'Majunu'. She played a Bengali young girl, who falls for a Tamil boy Prashanth, during her visit to Tamil Nadu with friends.
Rinke Khanna gave a lovely performance in the film. Especially the song, 'Mudhal Kanavae' from the film grabbed the attention of the cinephiles and it continues to stay as one of the most played romantic Tamil songs of all time. Despite the success of ‘Majunu’, Rinke Khanna didn't sign Tamil movies, and, after a few films in Hindi, she completely vanished from the showbiz.

Rinke Khanna was last seen on big screens in the 2004 Bollywood drama 'Chameli'. After marrying Samir Saran in February 2003, Rinke Khanna decided to give more time to her family. Although she has been away from the limelight for nearly two decades, her fans continue to anticipate her comeback! We wish the same!
