In a never before scenario, we have three southern superstars Mahesh Babu (Mahesh Khaleja), NTR Jr (Brindavanam) and Rajinikants (Robot) in a screen tussle as their big ticket flicks get set to release in October, around the same time.

An estimated ` 80 crore is riding on these three films, and their success could determine the fate of Tollywood.
Debutant producer Kanna Rao is confident about Robot which hes bought for a whopping ` 24 crore. We have full faith in the Rajinikanth-Shankar combo, and are set to release our film on October 1, he says. Vamsi Paidipally, director of the NTR starrer Brindavanam, is taking the clash sportingly. On many occasions, big films released on the same day and succeeded on their own merits. We cant afford to miss the festival season. Our film is a family entertainer blending NTRs larger than life image with a love track . Our film hits the screens on October 8, he says. Mahesh Khalejais set for release on October 7 with a huge number of prints, say reliable sources.
Buyers and exhibitors are favouring Mahesh Khaleja , while Brindavanam (` 34 crore plus) is a close second, Robot (`` 18 to 20 crore) is third.
In Rayalaseema Mahesh Khaleja has been sold for a whopping sum because it is the superstars first film in three years, says Srinivas Reddy, a leading exhibitor and distributor of that region. Alankar Prasad, exhibitor of Vijayawada and Ambica Ramachandra, exhibitor in East Godavari vouch for Maheshs film too, but say that theyd like to release their films in theatres that are willing to share their investment and not give it to exhibitors who let out theatres on rental basis.

A leading film distributor of Hyderabad says, The producer of Puliand Mahesh Khaleja has committed his film to a distribution house a year ago and the producer of Brindavanam, has his chain of theatres, so other distributors have no room.
