Dance
Day, dancer- turned-actor
Vineeth is busy teaching dance to his students online. The actor was last seen in Rajiv Menon's
Sarvam Thaala Mayam. The actor apart from doing lead roles has excelled in character and negative roles, too and has worked extensively in south Indian films. However, he considers dance as his first love and has collaborated with popular dancers like Padma Subramaniam, Shobana and Lakshmi Gopalaswamy among others. He also turned a choreographer with the film, Kambhoji, a couple of years ago.
Vineeth is keen to impart the knowledge he received from his gurus to his disciples and he runs a dance school in Kochi. He says that the lockdown has not impacted his classes. While he used to take classes for two days in a week, in the lockdown period, his students have been asking for more classes, and hence he has made it into four online classes per week, he says. He is happy that the lockdown could neither make him nor his students lazy.
He says that he considers dance similar to yoga. In both, it is the confluence of mind and body. It helps one focus the mind on one point, he says. Mentioning that dance helps provide an inner calmness to the dancer, he adds that a dancer will be in a meditative state while performing.
