Through my film, I’m fulfilling my mom’s dream: Rahul

Youtuber-turned-actor Prankstar Rahul is playing the protagonist in an upcoming fantasy thriller. Rahul, who has acted in films like Bachelor and Prince, will also be directing the flick. In a chat with us, he says, “There’s horror and dark comedy in the film, as the script demanded these elements.”MS Baaskar will be playing a key role in the film, and about casting the actor, he says, “I needed someone who could pull off mass, dance, and comedy.” It was Rahul’s mother who dreamed for him to be in films. “It’s now been 15 years since she died. So, starting work on my film is a happy moment, as I’m fulfilling her dream,” he shares.Rahul states that YouTube gave him a platform when he didn’t get a chance in cinema. “I have been in the film field for 14 years. When I act in films, I usually don’t sit in the caravan. I look at how the director goes about a scene,” he reveals. Additionally, Rahul tells us about a few of the artistes who have encouraged him through his journey and says, “During lockdown, my videos reached artistes like Lokesh Kanagaraj sir, Anirudh sir, Simbu sir and SK anna . All of them called and wished me. Anirudh sir even sent me a voice note that he is my PRO from now on. When K.G.F: Chapter 1 was about to come out, I did a video with Yash, and he praised my acting.”
