After making his directorial debut with the sci-fi thriller Maayavan last year,
CV Kumar
is all set to shoot his next film, which has been titled Gangs Of Madras. As the title implies, it is a gangster film, and Kumar informs that it will be “a fictional account based on a true story”. “It will be a realistic gangster film. I have written the script myself this time,” he says.
The film will have a multi-star cast. While some of the casting is yet to be finalised, he reveals that actors Kalaiyarasan, Amzath, Bagavathi Perumal (of
Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom
fame) and Aadukalam Naren will be part of the film. “Director Velu Prabhakaran will be seen in a crucial role,” he adds.
As for the female characters, Kumar informs that he has zeroed in on three actresses, who are currently preparing for their roles through workshops.
The film goes on the floors next week. The recordings of the songs of the film was started on Tuesday. Kumar has roped in Hari Dafusa, who has worked with AR Rahman, as the composer. Karthik Kumar, an assistant of well-known
