Thilakar is based on a real-life story

Actress Mrudula Baskar, who plays the female lead in Thilakar, says the film is based on a real-life incident. Says the Vallinam actress, ���Thilakar is actually a periodic film which is set in Tirunelveli. It is about a boy whose life is changed by a certain set of demanding and difficult circumstances. The film has been directed by Perumal Pillai while the camera has been handled by Cheran sir���s favourite cameraman Rajesh Yadav.��� On her role in the film, she says, ���I play a character that is completely different from the one I played in Vallinam.I play a cheeky, adamant girl from the rural belt.���
