'Thevar Magan' - 1992

Sivaji Ganesan and Kamal Haasan are the two highly skilled actors of Tamil cinema, and they played father- son in the 1992 film 'Thevar Magan'. The rural drama, which was directed by Bharathan, expressed the father-son bonding. In the film, Sivaji Ganesan, who dreams to develop his village well, loses his life, Kamal Haasan then sacrifices his aim to fulfil his father's wish. The unique rural action drama was well enjoyed by the fans, and it is one of the best Tamil films that will be remembered for a long time.

'Vaaranam Aayiram' - 2008

Suriya played the dual role as a father and son in Gautham Menon's directorial 'Vaaranam Aayiram'. Even though it's a romantic drama Gautham Menon clearly explained the care of a responsible father for his son, and how a father should motivate his son during hard times. Suriya turned superfit for his role in the film, sporting a six-pack to surprise the fans.

'Deiva Thirumagal' - 2011

After several father and son stories, Vikram starrer 'Deiva Thirumagal' came with a story that focuses on father-daughter bond. The film sheds light on the feeling of separation from his daughter, and his only wish of developing her well in life. 'Deiva Thirumagal' climax scene where the detached father and daughter meet at court will surely move you into tears.

'Thanga Meenkal' - 2013

'Thanga Meenkal' is about the life of a poor father, who takes up a job beyond his means to provide a better life for her daughter. But he never shows his pains to his daughter and raises her as a happy child. 'Thanga Meenkal', which is directed by Ram, features the director himself in the lead role as a father and debutant Sadhana plays his daughter. The critically acclaimed film bagged three awards at the 61st National Film Awards.

'Asuran' - 2019

Dhanush, who always looks young and charismatic, played the role of an aged father in Vetri Maaran's directorial 'Asuran'. Dhanush, who was a powerful and vigorous youngster, turned into a calm family man after his marriage and tries to build a peaceful life for his children. But he loses his calmness to fight for his son, and to save him from the opponents. 'Asuran' shows how a father can be both calm and combat for the welfare of his children.
