Vijay has placed himself among the leading South Indian actors by delivering successful films, and many filmmakers await the opportunity to team up with the actor. But now the actor's father and director, SA Chandrasekhar, have revealed the names of directors who refused to direct a film with Vijay in their recent interaction. When SA Chandrasekhar reached Chennai with cinema dreams, he approached Bharathiraja to hire him as his associate, but the veteran director refused to hook him. However, SA Chandrasekhar with his efforts became a successful filmmaker.
A few years later, SA Chandrasekhar approached Bharathiraja with another request to direct a film with Vijay, but again, the director refused the former's proposal. Early in the 2000s, SA Chandrasekhar had also asked Gautham Menon to do a film with Vijay, and he refused the proposal too. However, SA Chandrasekhar feels grateful that he launched his son Vijay by directing his initial movies, and his son has transformed into a leading commercial hero in cinema. He also said in a report that every action is God's plan, and we can't change it.
It is worth mentioning that Vijay and Gautham Menon teamed up for 'Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru' in 2013, but the film got shelved after an initial photoshoot due to creative differences. Gautham Menon is now sharing the screen space with Vijay in the actor's next film, 'Leo', and the former also wishes to direct a film with the latter.
