Thej says, “The film is set to release on April 16 in Karnataka. We are considering a release date for the Tamil version,” he says.

Interestingly, the makers of

Maanadu

announced that the

Kannada

remake of their film will be called Rewind. “But I had already registered that title in Kannada, and had even received the censor certificate. When director Venkat Prabhu and producer Suresh Kamatchi came to know about this, they changed the Kannada title. I’m really thankful to them,” he says.

Talking about the film, Thej says, “Rewind is about how a journalist fights a corporate mafia with the help of technology. It’s a scientific action thriller, focusing on an important aspect of the human brain.”

Meanwhile, Thej will next be directing a pan-Indian film, with a budget of around Rs 40 crore. “It’s called GOD, which stands for Glory Of Don,” he says, “The film will be made in all the south Indian languages and also Hindi. I’m working on finalising the cast and crew. We are in talks with a Hollywood actress as well. I’m currently shooting for Ramachari 2.O in Kannada. I will start

GOD

as soon as I’m done with that film.”
