, who is ready with his next film, Gangs Of Madras, says there has been a steady increase in the

satellite rights

for Tamil films in the recent years. According to him, this is a good time for filmmakers in Tamil, provided one is sincere to their work.

He says, “Of late, there’s a huge market for

Kollywood

among the North Indian audiences. The Hindi dubbed versions of several Tamil films are being sold like hot cakes. The market started witnessing this rise last year. There was no such avenue for us earlier. Now, big films have the capacity to fetch around `15 crores. A far as I know, the Vijay-starrer Sarkar got around `20 crore. Even for my Gangs Of Madras, I have been told that the dubbing rights is worth `1 crore. This is apart from the amount which can be obtained from digital rights. One needs to be smart enough to choose films with the right content.”
