The Eye trailer: Shruti Haasan's psychological thriller promises to impress

Shruti Haasan is set to make her international debut with the psychological thriller 'The Eye.' This British film, directed by Daphne Schmon Shruti takes on the lead role of Diana, a woman grappling with the mysterious death of her husband, Felix, played by Mark Rowley.

The film is set on a remote island where Diana travels to scatter Felix's ashes, only to find herself entangled in the "Evil Eye" ritual. This ancient practice promises to bring back the dead but at a sinister cost, driving the story into a dark exploration of grief, mystery, and the supernatural.

The film's trailer, released recently, gives a glimpse of its suspenseful and haunting portrayal of Shruti's character.

'The Eye' was primarily shot in Greece, capturing the breathtaking landscapes of Corfu and Athens. The film has already been screened at the London Independent Film Festival and the Greek International Film Festival, receiving positive reviews for its unique storyline and Shruti's performance. It is set to premiere in India at the 5th Wench Film Festival in Mumbai, which focuses on horror, sci-fi, and fantasy films.

Shruti Haasan on the eve of the film's Indian premiere, shared that the film has an all-women-led production team. "Psychological thrillers have always been a genre that fascinates me. To be part of a story that dives deep into human emotions, grief, and the supernatural is incredibly exciting," she said.

Back in Indian cinema, Shruti has an impressive lineup of films. She is set to appear in 'Coolie,' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and is in talks to reprise her role in the sequel to Prashanth Neel's 'Salaar 2.'

She will be working with Vijay Sethupathi in 'The Train' and is part of Thalapathy Vijay's 'Jana Nayagan,' directed by H. Vinoth.
