Thambi preview: A family-based action thriller with a myriad of emotions

From the day Thambi was announced many were excited to see two big stars from the same family share screen space for the first time. Actor Karthi, Jyothika’s brother law is playing the role of the actress brother in the film. The film is also titled as the younger brother in Tamil hints the film is about the relationship between an elder sister and brother. As both actors are known for their scintillating performance on the screen, we expect an acting war between the duo in the film.The film is directed by Papanasam fame, Jeethu Josephy who is much known for his unique storylines and enthralling screenplay. The director who is into his second venture in Tamil after four years might look to come back with a hit. The supporting cast of the film also looks promising which includes Sathyaraj, Sowcar Janaki, Nikhila Vimal, Anson Paul, Ammu Abhirami, Seetha, Ramesh Thilak and Super Deluxe fame Master Ashwant Ashokkumar.In a recent interview, the director revealed the movie is based on a documentary. Karthi is believed to play the role of a conman who plays with his identity in a family. The trailer looked engrossing with some good visuals in the lens of R.D Rajasekhar. The music of the film is composed by 96 fame, Govind Vasantha while some songs already got some good reviews. The movie produced by Viacom 18 and Parallel Minds Productions kickstarted was wrapped in 67 days. This family-based thriller is clashing with Sivarkarthikeyan’s mass entertainer, Hero tomorrow in theatres.Watch this space for critic review of 'Thambi'.
