Thalapathy Vijay pays his last respects to SP Balasubrahmanyam

Legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam breathed his last on Friday at 1.04 PM after a long battle with health complications that arose following the coronavirus infection. The legendary singer was cremated with state honours today. While his mortal remains was kept at his farmhouse for fans and public to pay their homage, actor Vijay paid his last respects to the veteran singer.
SP Balasubrahmanyam had acted as Vijay’s father in the movie ‘Priyamaanavale’ also starring Simran in the lead. Actor Vijay took part in final rituals of SP Balasubrahmanyam, which happened at his Thamaraipakkam farmhouse in the Tiruvallur district. Vijay was paying his final respects to the legendary singer and also comforting his son SPB Charan and their family members.
SPB, who made his singing debut in 1966 with the Telugu film Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna, was the most prolific singer the country has ever seen. He also was an admired character actor, earning praise for his effortless performances in films like Manathil Uruthi Vendum, Thiruda Thiruda, Kadhalan, Minsara Kanavu, and Moone Moonu Varthai. He also played the leads in films like Keladi Kanmani and Sigaram.
After having tested positive for COVID-19 during the first week of August and getting himself admitted at a private hospital in Chennai. Unfortunately, the acclaimed singer health deteriorated in the last 24 hours and he passed away yesterday.
