Now, the buzz is strong that SJ Suryah will be playing a villain in the upcoming Tamil film tentatively titled 'Thalapathy 68'. Featuring
Vijay in the lead role, the movie is directed by
Venkat Prabhu and the music for the movie will be composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. If the news is true, this will be the second film that SJ Suryah will play the antagonist opposite Vijay after 'Mersal'. The duo had already worked together for '
Kushi' and 'Varisu' as well.
The official announcement of 'Thalapathy 68' was made by the actor on May 21 through his social media account. Earlier the 68th film of Vijay was said to be with Atlee, but it has now been confirmed that it's with Venkat Prabhu. This film will mark the first collaboration of Vijay and Venkat Prabhu. Also, 'Thalapathy 68' brings back the special combo of Vijay and Yuvan Shankar Raja. Yuvan Shankar Raja is working with Vijay after a gap of 20 years.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Vijay is currently shooting for his film 'Leo' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The movie stars Vijay, Trisha, Arjun, Priya Anand, Sanjay Dutt, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Mysskin among others in lead roles. The music for the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander and it is set to release in theatres on October 19, 2023.
