Kerala. I was shooting in
Kumbakonam
when the director called me. Apparently, four to five artistes had refused to do this film because of its subject. I told him I will do the film if I like the story,” says the actor and adds that he doesn’t think there is anything controversial here.
“It’s a tricky subject, yes, but it is a very interesting one, about a Hindu converting to Islam. My character is the head of a family, which includes his wife and two children. Why does he convert to another religion? I found the climax excellent as it answers why people convert, and it also talks about whether conversion is good or bad,” explains Vijay.
The actor informs that he has completed shooting for the film. “I had to shoot within 15 days because they wanted to send it for the National Awards,” he adds.
