Tamil Nadu Film Exhibitor's Association demands 'Amaran' makers to postpone the film's OTT release

Tamil Nadu Film Exhibitor's Association demands 'Amaran' makers to postpone the film's OTT release
Sivakarthikeyan’s 'Amaran' turned out to be a major box-office hit. The film, which stars Sivakarthikeyan in a compelling role as Major Mukund Varadharajan, was released in theaters on October 31 for Diwali 2024. This multi-language release allowed a wide audience to experience the film, and the biopic has been performing strongly in theaters in its second week. Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu Film Exhibitor's Association has sent a demand to the 'Amaran' makers. As the Sivakarthikeyan starrer is earning solid occupancy in theaters with immense support from the family audience, the Tamil Nadu Theatre Association has demanded the 'Amaran' makers release the film on the OTT platform after 8 weeks from its theatrical release date.'Amaran' was initially planned to have an OTT release after 4 weeks from its theatrical release, but the makers recently pushed the film's digital release back by a week. Whether 'Amaran' makers will accept the Tamil Nadu Film Exhibitors Association's demand to have a digital release after 8 weeks or they will go with the 5-week plan? Is something to be watched.Directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, the film’s success can be attributed to its engaging narrative, action sequences, and strong performances, particularly by Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi. Additionally, the music by GV Prakash Kumar has enhanced its appeal, contributing to a positive reception from both critics and audiences alike. The combination of a major festival release and strong word-of-mouth helped the Sivakarthikeyan starrer peak well at the box office, and the film surpassed Rs 250 crore in 12 days.
