Tamil audiences are open to new stories, says Lakshmi Manchu

Actress-producer Lakshmi Manchu is thrilled that Maranthen Mannithen, starring her, Taapsee, Aadhi and Sundeep, has been receiving appreciation. She���s happy that the film���s music, cinematography, art, CG and the actors��� performances especially, have come in for praise.
���The Tamil audiences are open to new plots and a different kind of storytelling. So, I was hopeful our film would strike a chord with them.I���m overwhelmed with the response. Every aspect of filmmaking, be it music or art department or CG or sound effects, has been appreciated by the audience.We did not compromise while making the film,��� she says.
While it was felt that the flood scenes in the film was natural, the interplay between nature and the characters were woven together beautifully, said some. The actress is happy that despite releasing along with several other films, Maranthen Mannithen has managed to hold its own, with the number of theatres screening the movie also increasing two days after its release.
Meanwhile, the next couple of months look jampacked for Lakshmi, who will be shuttling between various cities on work. While she will be receiving the Nandi Award for Best Villain (she is the first woman to win this award for a negative role) for her role in Anaganaga O Dheerudu next month, she will also be honoured by Andhra Mahila Sabha in Chennai. She is also thrilled about winning an award for woman entrepreneurship, in Visakhapatnam. ���I���ve been wanting to take a long holiday, but looks like that���s out of question now!
